Mineralization Comments

03/18/2008 (M A Puumala) - Elliott and Corkery (1988) reported the presence of a narrow (approximately 1 cm wide) gold mineralized quartz vein hosted in mafic metavolcanics at this location. The host mafic metavolcanic rocks form part of the mafic metavolcanic-dominated South Rim unit of the McGruer assemblage (Thurston, Osmani and Stone 1991). The vein was reported by Elliott and Corkery (1988) to occur in the axial plane of m-folded mafic metavolcanics. A grab sample of the vein material assayed 940 ppb (Elliott and Corkery 1988). The vein is 0.5 inches wide and 8 feet long. The plunge of the fold is 285/35 (Assessment report 53B09NW0004).
