Mineralization Comments

Mar 19, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is based on anomalous gold and copper assays that were reported by Spence (1998) from Romios Gold Resources diamond drill hole RGRI-98-9. This drill hole was advanced to test an electromagnetic anomaly in a significant iron formation horizon that is hosted in the mafic metavolcanic rock-dominated South Rim unit of the McGruer assemblage (Thurston, Osmani and Stone 1991). Occurrence-grade assays were obtained from the following drill hole intersections: 3093 ppm Cu over 1.0 m (14.9 to 15.9) in garnet-sericite-staurolite-quartz schist mineralized with disseminated chalcopyrite; 3269 ppm Cu and 745 ppb Au over 1.0 m (18.9-19.9) in coarse garnet-sericite-staurolite-quartz schist mineralized with disseminated chalcopyrite and arsenopyrite; 2217 ppb Au over 0.5 m (24.3 to 24.8) in staurolite-quartz-garnet schist mineralized with disseminated chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite; and 856 ppb Au over 1.0 m (79.0 to 80.0) in quartz-biotite-garnet-sericite schist and quartz vein material mineralized with pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite (Spence 1998).
