Lithology Comments

Apr 20, 2009 (D Draper) - The bedrock geology of the area consists almost entirely of various phases of gabbroic intrusion with two minor areas exposing the gabbro/basalt contact. Two small elongate aplitic bodies intrude gabbro near the gabbro/basalt contact and contain small amounts of barren white quartz lenses. Shear zones up to 2m in width traverse the stripped area in a roughly east-west direction. All rocks and structures are cut by a 4m wide massive diabase dyke striking roughly 315 deg az across the central portion of the exposed bedrock. (after T-5560)

Mineralization Comments

Apr 20, 2009 (D Draper) - Laurion sample 695 returned 278ppm cobalt and 1270ppm copper from a conductive, rusty pegmatitic gabbro. Sample 724 from a mafic volcanic near its contact with gabbro was taken approximately 20m south of 695 and assayed 191ppm Co and 1715ppm Cu. (T-5560) OGS sample BTA 36 was taken in the vicinity of Laurion sample 724 and near an old prospecting trench (G. Sweet work?). The sulphide mineralized gabbro assayed 219ppm Co. (OFR 6203, p. 61)
