Jun 18, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - 'No.6 vein is the most important; it has been uncovered by trenches and test pits for a length of 800 feet in an east-northeast direction; it dips steeply to the north. The quartz ranges in width on the surface from 1 to 14 inches, with the greatest width at the west end, but it is reported to widen to about 2 feet at the bottom of the 30-foot shaft, now flooded.' Jun 18, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - In 1932, nine quartz veins were discovered by prospectors while working for the Baden Gold Mines Syndicate. The quartz veins were described as being hosted in andesite, tuff, agglomerate, and syenite, located in an area immediately east and north of Belt Lake. REF: Report by Michael P. Rosatelli (dated May 10, 2006), page 28, in KL 5603.

Jun 18, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - 'It is reported that the three completed holes at the west end of the vein, which were approximately 100 feet apart, showed at a vertical depth of 100 feet widths of about 2 feet of quartz, carrying from 0.4 to 0.65 ounces per ton gold, and that in one hole the footwall rock averaged 0.30 ounces over 4 feet.' REF: ODM 1935, AR VOL 44, PT 2, P44. Assays of grab samples taken by H.L. Lovell from the wallrocks of the No.6 vein were: 0.02 ounces of gold per ton for a sample from the shaft on the west end of No.6 vein; 0.35 ounces at a point 550 feet northeast along the trench from the shaft; and 0.01 to 0.03 ounces in the trench at a point 720 feet northeast of the shaft. REF: ODM 1967, GR 51, page 28. Golden Valley Mines collect three random samples of dump material from the No.6 vein shaft in 2004. The assay returned 4.03 g/t gold and 33 ppm copper (sample 283553); 0.47 g/t gold and 112 ppm copper (sample 283554), and 1.10 g/t gold and 181 ppm copper (sample 283555). REF: Report by Michael P. Rosatelli (dated May 10, 2006), page 25, in KL 5603. In 1964, 7 drill holes were completed on the No.6 vein for a strike length of 120 feet and the following intersections of note were obtained: Hole No.2: 0.47 oz over 0.2 feet; Hole No.4: 1.17 oz over 7.5 feet; Hole No. 6: 0.02 oz to 0.05 oz over 15 feet
Jun 18, 2010 (J Suma-Momoh) - The wallrocks of No.6 vein are very fine grained, massive, bleached, silicified volcanic rocks that are cut by a syenite dyke near the east end of the vein. Pink and white calcite, chlorite, sericite, pyrite and chalcopyrite are present. Subsidiary shears diverge from the main shear. REF: ODM 1967, GR 51, page 28.
