Lithology Comments

Feb 03, 2011 (A Wilson) - Elevated gold values were recovered from highly altered and metamorphosed metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks. Elevated gold values were recovered from an area 150 m long by up to 45 m wide. Diamond drill holes intersected a sequence of felsic, biotite and garnet-biotite gneisses with narrow interbeds of meta-conglomerates. These interbeds are typically up to 2 m in thickness. Quartz veins and pegmatite dikes also were observed. Metasedimentary rocks were intersected in DDH BL-10-08. These units are primarily composed of feldspar and biotite and cross-cut by narrow quartz veins.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 06, 2012 (A Wilson) - Grab samples from selected outcrops returned values up to 3.4 g/t gold. The gold mineralization occurs within a broad zone of disseminated and fracture-controlled sulphides within a volcano-metasedimentary package of variable composition. The main sulphides are pyrite and pyrrhotite, with the former typically predominating. The mineralized zone is generally low grade (0.25 g/t Au to 5 g/t Au), is up to 120 m wide and stretches for more than 1.6 km along strike. It is characterized by local silicification but lacks lithological control and quartz veining. The broad zone encompasses multiple/variable host rock metasedimentary horizons and subordinate intrusives of acidic to intermediate composition, all of which display feldspathic, chloritic and biotitic alteration.

May 11, 2016 (P Bousquet) - The initial mineralization discovered surrounds a high-grade core (High-Grade Zone or HGZ). The grade improves towards the southeast with average grades above 2.5 g/t gold. The HGZ is characterized by a well-developed hydrothermal system consisting of quartz flooding and potassic alteration.
