Nov 04, 2010 (A Wilson) - The quartz-carbonate vein cuts across hornfelsed intermediate to mafic pillowed and massive metavolcanic rocks and associated quartz-feldspar porphyry intrusions. The western part of the vein is bordered by fine-grained, leucocratic quartz-mica schists which grade outward into gneissic trondhjemite. The eastern end is bordered by chlorite-quartz-calcite-muscovite schists. The porphyry is considered to be an apophyse of the Gutcher Lake Stock. The western extension of the Murphy Mine shear transects the contact of the Gutcher Lake Stock that has intruded the metavolcanic and metasedimentary units. As the shear nears the contact, it is deflected to the north in a stepwise fashion becoming closely aligned with the north contact of the stock. The main vein on the Pele claims has a strike length of approximately 200 m with drill intercepts returning up to 2 g/t over 108 m. The North vein has a strike length of approximately 100m.
