Lithology Comments

Nov 04, 2010 (A Wilson) - A macro-diamond bearing kimberlite (lamprophyre) dike intrudes the Gutcher Lake stock along the south side. The dike has been traced for over 1.4 km and to a depth of 100 m. The dike has a potential strike length of 2500 m. Each intercept of mica kimberlite has indicated that the dike consists of multiple intrusions that are contained within a single continuous zone or as multiple incepts separated by sheets of granodiorite or metavolcanics. The dike is composed of phlogopite, olivine, chromite, chrome diopside, diopside and perovskite.
