Exploration History

1984: property staked by M. Stewart. 1985: property optioned by Noranda Exploration Ltd., who conducted geological mapping, trenching, soil geochemical, ground VLF-EM, magnetometer and IP surveys, and drilled 5 DDH totalling 1038.5 m. 1986: Noranda conducted a humus geochemical survey, trenching, sampling, magnetometer and IP surveys, and drilled 8 DDH totalling 1176 m. 1987: Noranda conducted petrographic and electron microprobe studies, geological mapping, and drilled 25 DDH totalling 666 m. 1988: Inco optioned the property and conducted geological mapping, a magnetometer survey, prospecting, sampling, and drilled 9 DDH totalling 892.46 m. 1989: Inco conducted prospecting, trenching, geological mapping, sampling, and drilled 10 DDH totalling 988.47 m. 1990: Inco drilled 3 DDH totalling 713.53 m. 1989-90: H. Lundmark conducted trenching. 1994-95: Glamis Gold conducted prospecting and sampling. 1996-98: Avalon Ventures Ltd. conducted geological mapping, a soil geochemical survey, IP survey, trenching, and drilled 4 DDH totalling 1318 m. 2002: Valerie Gold Resources Ltd. optioned the property and conducted prospecting, geological mapping, sampling, trenching and drilled 5 DDH totalling 1042 m. ValGold's initial 2002 field program delineated new gold zones on the Tower Mountain property proximal to the TMIC contact. Litho-geochemical sampling of outcrops frequently returned anomalously high gold values (>150 ppb) over an area measuring approximately 400 by 1400 m. Ten trenches were completed on the property and four new gold zones, designated the "U", "V", "W" and "X", were discovered. 2003: ValGold conducted trenching and drilled 12 DDH totalling 2580.9 m. 2004-5: ValGold Resources conducted trenching, sampling, geological mapping, geophysical surveys, and drilled 14 holes totalling 3523 m. 2007: Valgold drilled 8 DDH totaling 1661 m (2 DDH on the U/V Zone). Exploration work on the property since November 2002 has focused on diamond drilling. A total of eight drill programs comprising 75 drill holes, totaling 18,279 m, have been completed to August 2007. The majority of drilling has been in the vicinity of the U and V Trench areas (U/V Zone) and this work has defined several parallel, mineralized structures striking in a southeasterly direction. 2011: Valgold drilled 29 DDH totalling 4628 m (1 DDH totalling 274 m on the U/V Zone). 2012: Valgold and Revolver Enter into Option agreement to advance the Tower Mountain Gold Property. 2012: Airborne Geophysics to test for any geophysical signature to the newly discovered gold zones and to determine the potential extensions of the zones beyond the drilled areas. 2020: M. Stares and C. Hickman carried out prospecting and sampling. 2021: Thunder Gold Corp. optioned the property.

Geology Comments

Apr 10, 2013 (Shannon Zurevinski) - The regional geology of the property is analgous in many respects to the setting of other world class deposits found in the Timmins and Kirkland Lake Camps in northeastern Ontario. Underlain by thick Timiskaming sediments and felsic to mafic alkali volcanics, which are intruded by felsic and intermediate stocks and sills. Numerous gold occurrences, spatially related to felsic intrusions, large zones of alteration and sulfide mineralization, and the presence of small and large scale faulting, can indicate characteristics favourable for both bulk tonnage, disseminated and high-grade vein style gold. Exploration by previous property owners identified numerous gold occurrences proximal to the contact of the Tower Mountain Intrusive Complex (TMIC) and along the contacts of dykes radiating out from the TMIC. Broad zones of disseminated gold mineralization, often containing discrete high-grade vein material, are accompanied by up to 25% pyrite. Gold mineralized zones commonly are altered by quartz, ankerite, tourmaline, hematite, chlorite, epidote and sericite. Several gold occurrences are also hosted by pyritic breccias containing up to 20% toumaline. Grab and channel samples collected returned gold values ranging from 1.0 to 28.0 g/t. Historical drilling identified several broad zones of anomalous gold mineralization including high grade zones documenting up to 5.9 g/t Au over 11.0 meters. (www.valgold.com)

Mineralization Comments

May 09, 2016 (N Bennett) - The majority of drilling has been in the vicinity of the U and V Trench areas (U/V Zone) and this work has defined several parallel, mineralized structures striking in a southeasterly direction. The most continuous of these structures is designated the Main Vein which dips moderately to steeply to the northeast and can be traced along strike for a minimum 400m. Examination of Main Vein core indicates the presence of a gold mineralized zone measuring 0.6 to 20.0m true width plunging steeply to the southeast. Intercepts from this zone returned assays ranging from 304.00 g/t Au over 3.0m in drill hole TM04-3 to 2.58 g/t Au over 55.5m in TM04-9. Commonly accompanying the Main Vein mineralization is a halo of moderately to highly anomalous gold values in the footwall and hanging wall extending a few meters to tens of meters beyond the vein. The most significant results came from the U Trench located near the northwestern contact of the TMIC. Chip samples from this trench returned gold assays of 1.055 g/t (0.03 oz/t), 1.575 g/t (0.05 oz/t) and 108.81 g/t (3.17 oz/t). Historical drilling identified several broad zones of anomalous gold mineralization including high grade zones documenting up to 5.9 g/t Au over 11.0 m.

May 09, 2016 (Therese Pettigrew) - Mineralization in the U-V Zone is associated with a series of narrow quartz-carbonate veins containing trace chalcopyrite, pyrite and rate visible gold (Jobin-Befans, 2006).
