Access Description: From Thunder Bay travel west 64 km on highway 17 turning left onto highway 11 for another 62km till Swamp road. South 14km on Swamp Road there is a T junction with left road heading off to the Ardeen Mine (6.5km), while the right hand road meets with the Nelson Road after 9.5km which provides access to the southern part of the property. Access further in is by seasonal logging roads, and walking.
1984-85 Kennco Exploration (Canada) Ltd stakes two blocks of claims (one covering Pearce Lake) and then takes an option on the ground between their claim blocks that was held by Wawiag Ressources Ltd. and completes linecutting, geological mapping, ground magnetometer and VLF-EM geophysical surveys, geochemical sampling and limited trenching. 1988: Noranda Exploration Company optioned the Grande Portage property and contracted Dighem to fly an airborne EM and magnetometer surveyover the property and area. 1990-91: Noranda Exploration Company completed geological mapping, prospecting, reconnaissance IP, trenching and humus surveys identifying the Waverly Shear and gold/copper mineralization. 2005: East West Resources Corp tested the occurrence with two DDH totalling 366 m.

Jan 06, 2017 (Andrew Tims) - The occurrence is within the ENE-striking North Waverly Shear Zone. The structure crosscuts the Pearce Lake area and is on strike with the shear zone hosting the Snodgrass Lake deposit. The occurrence has similar geological and structural settings to the Snodgrass Lake where diorites and feldspar porphyries are emplaced along a northeast trending structures.
