Lithology Comments

Sep 27, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The host rock to the veins and shear zones is carbonate-sericite+/-chlorite schist, similar to that which hosts the Huronian gold vein. The schist adjacent to the vein contains disseminated pyrite (Osmani, 1997).

Jan 19, 2017 (J Scott) - 1991 OGS 2500 ppb Au grab sample. 2009: DDH 09CADD0038 1.26 gpt over 1.8 m

Sep 27, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The McKellar Zone- a shear/vein system, southwest of the Huronian Mine, is exposed in pits and trenches. The host rock to the veins are carbonate-sericite±chlorite schist similar to that which hosts the Huronian gold vein. The schist adjacent to the vein contains disseminated pyrite. Up to 640 ppb gold have been reported from the wall rock schist. The quartz vein, which contains carbonate and albite, is mineralized with pyrite, galena, telluride, sphalerite and chalcopyrite. The vein has yielded up to 2710 ppb gold (Chorlton, 1987; Osmani, 1993). Highlights from Kesselrun’s 2016 channel sampling program included 2.6 gpt Au and 11.8 gpt Ag over 2.1 m, and 2.5 gpt Au and 34.7 gpt Ag over 2.1 m (AFRI 20000015344). DDH P-FS-03-02 assayed 10.314 ppm Au and 32.0 ppm Ag over 0.3 m at 97.2 m (AFRI 52B10SW20140.
