Dec 22, 2011 (A McKee) - 22 Showing: located on the headland in central Rapson Bay. The showing consists of a 5x6 m wave washed outcrop of massive, melnocrtic hornblende diorite crosscut by a relatively dence, anastomosing stockwork of biotite stringers and narrow shear bands. Chip sampling along a 5-10 cm wide, pyrite-pyrrhotit-chalcopyrite filled shear enclosed by biotit-chlorite-carbonate alteration containing translucent white quarts filled tension gashes returned an anomalous gold value of 87 ppm Au. ICP analyses indicate anomalous levels of cobalt (138 ppm) copper (0.169%) and molybdenum (15 ppm). The tenor of strongly anomalous iron (13.8 wt%), potassium (1.66wt%) and sulphur (53,800) at the 22 Showing, and enriched silver (1.6 pp,), aluminum (4.18 wt%), magnesium (3.47 wt%) and lead (16 ppm) provide evidence for a robust potassic hydrothermal assemblage enriched sulphur, base and precious metals.
