Feb 13, 2012 (A McKee) - 2007: Examples of Best samples, 163.75 g/t Au ver .0.47 m. 19.6 g/t over 0.75, 24.42 g/t over 0.37 m
Oct 15, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - The discovery hole DDH DC-08-07 intersected a thick interval of the south Zone between 105.4-201.6 m depth and comprises a sulphidized black argillite with basaltic rocks that have been intruded by several quartz porphyry sills. DDH DC-09 extended the South Zone towards the SW and intersected a 30 cm wide sulphide-rich quartz vein in basalt. The zone assayed 1.06 g/t Au over 1.6 m with the quartz vein returning 2.47 g/t Au over 0.6 m. DDH DC-10-07 tested the northern extension of the sulphidized argillites and contained a mineralized interval that returned 1.88 g/t Au over 1.1 m. A thick alteration zone was intersected below the South Zone within underlying basalts. Three quartz veins containing visible gold were intersected that returned assays of 1.46 g/t Au over 3.0 m from 173.9-176.9 m, 163.75 g/t Au over 0.47 m from 181.83-182.3 m, and 32.65 g/t Au over 2 m from 201.12-203.12 m including 61.97 g/t Au over 1 m from 202.12-203.12 m (Assessment report 20000002925). Additional results included 4.28 g/t Au over 6.35 m (DC-15-07) and 17.2 g/t over 2.2 m (DC-08-01R). Quartz veining has been the main focus of exploration at the Hinge Zone. The quartz veining is hosted by multiple lithologies including massive basalt (high Mg-Tholeiite), argillite, and pillow basalt (high-Fe Tholeiite). Individual veins are variable in width ranging from 1 cm to up to 5 m and can create zones up to 40 m. They are generally mineralized with fine grained disseminated sulphides consisting of 1-3% pyrrhotite, 1-2% pyrite, 1-2% chalcopyrite, <1% arsenopyrite, and trace sphalerite. Visible gold is very common ranging from trace to 5% as pin pricks, centimetre scale clusters, and fracture fill. The hinge zone vein system is comprised of several sub-parallel anastomosing veins formed along the axial trace of a property wide D2 fold. The intersection between the fold and stratigraphy marks a plunge control to the higher grades within the veins (Adamova, 2020)
