Access Description: 2 km SW of Goldcorps High Grade Zone
1925 Noranda mines staked the Headway property area and cut at least 24 trenches over the area of the present claim group. No significant results were reported. 1944-1946 The first reported work on the property was carried out by Headway Red Lake Gold Mines Limited and included stripping, trenching, geological mapping, and diamond drilling 28 EX size holes totaling 1883 meters. This work focused on quartz-feldsparporphyry dykes (QFP) identified on surface. Results included from the No. 2 showing trench, 30cm sample grading 484.9 g/t, 131.5 g/t, and 61.6 g/t. Drill hole H45-13 returned 93.8 g/t over 60cm. 1963 Headway Red Lake Gold Mines Limited carried out additional work that included a 200 foot line spaced grid, EM, magnometer and geological surveys and five AX size diamond drill holes totaling 471 meters. Details of the work are not available. 1987-1988 Gunnar Gold Inc. completed geological mapping that included whole-rock lithogeochemistry, magnometer, VLF-ELM, and IP surveys, and stripping of gold occurrences located on both sides of Highway 125. Four BQ size diamond drill holes were drilled totaling 527 meters. Grab samples from No. 2 Showing returned 2,625 ppb, 980 ppb, and >20,000 ppb Au. Grab sample from main showing: 50,570 ppb Au. Drill holes H87-1 returned 3,701 ppb over 63 cm and H87-4 returned 2,113 ppb Au over 85 cm at the end of the hole. 1991 William E. McNerney drilled the BQ size diamond holes totalling 142 meters. No significant gold values were noted. 1997-1999 Rubicon minerals mapped in detail the east side of Highway 125 road cut near the quartz porphyry dyke gold occurrences of the Main Zone and re-established the 1987 Gunnar Gold Inc. grid. Two diamond drills holes were completed (HRL98-01 & 02) totalling 1201.83m. 2010: Mega Precious began a deep drilling program on the Headway property. The Headway property comprises six patented and one unpatented claim units, located 1500 meters south of Goldcorp's new high grade zone which contains a published resource of 1.89 million oz. gold at a cut grade of 1.36 oz/ton.
