Access Description: 45 km west of Thunder Bay, ON. Access is via a secondary logging road (Adrian Lake Rod) that intersects Hwy 590 approximately 20 kms from Kakabeka Falls. Adrian Lake Road runs just to the west of the Horne Property- from there use a quad access trail
Historical Copper-Nickel showing present in the ultramafic units and historical sampling yielded results up to 2.1 % Ni, 1.2 % Cu in a grab sample (MEI #166). 1939- Acorn Mining Syndicate (geophysical survey); 1940-1950s- Andowan Mines, Manpre Mining, J.Minnoletti held claims and completed some prelim studies looking for economic Fe; 1967-Noranda Exploration, Inco (DDH); 1969- Noranda (Mag and Electromag surveys); 1972- Noranda (DDH); 1972-Jet Mining (airborne mag); 1983- Jalna Resources (ground and airborne geophysics, mapping, geochem, trenching, sampling, DDH); 1984-85 Anaconda Canada Exploration (DDH 1449m); 1987-Inco (grid mapping, DDH); 1988-Inco concludes trenching and sampling (116 g/t Au and 175 g/t Au); 1988- Noranda (mapping); 1988-Royex Gold Mining Ltd. conducts linecutting, mapping, geochem, geophysics; 1991-Goldfields Canadian Mining and Lac Minerals evaluation and chip sampling; 1995-Landore Resources (DDH, geophysics, mapping); 1995- Battle Mountain Canada Ltd, WInslow Gold Corp; 1997- Cumberland Resources (mapping); 2000-Cassidy Gold Resources; 2008 Benton Resources Corp. entered into agreement with Mel Stewart and Michael Stares; 2008-9 Benton Resouces (Trenching, DDH 4 holes total 812m)

Apr 17, 2012 (Shannon Zurevinski) - Carter (1990): The eastern portion of the Shebandowan Greestone Belt is considered the Matawan Gold Belt. This area is underlain by Keewatin age sequences including Komatiitic to Alkali metavolcanics followed by Quetico-type sequences of sedimentary rocks followed by intrusive ultramafic to felsic rocks and finally Timiskaming-type alluvial/fluvial sediments.
