Apr 27, 2012 (Shannon Zurevinski) - Lapointe (2005) :The agate showings occur within mafic volcanic rocks, particularly within the grey to green massive basalt.


Mar 28, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - SDMR 84 on mining claim JD1922 covers a small island just a short distance NE of Cargill Island. SDMR 85 on patented mining claim JD1917 covers a small island due west of the north end of Shaganash Island. SDMR 86 on mining claim JD1831 covers McKay Island.

Apr 27, 2012 (Shannon Zurevinski) - Lapointe (2005): Agates of excellent quality for lapidary work are found locally throughout the Black Bay Peninsula area as amyglyoidal fillings and on the beaches.
