Lithology Comments

Jul 31, 2012 (A Wilson) - The rocks are metamorphosed to a lower amphibolite facies and contain appreciable amounts of mica. The mica- rich bands impart a strong somewhat variable foliation in the rock. This foliation commonly acts as a plane of weakness for splitting the stone.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 31, 2012 (A Wilson) - Although some variation in jointing was noted and hence amenability to splitting this factor was not considered to be detrimental to production of a uniform product. Test marketing of bulk sample confirmed that the olive green flag stone is a marketable product in demand in Ontario and U.S markets. The stone is uniform in appearance which will allow for production of a consistent product over many years.
