Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: From highway 518, 1.5 km vest of Sprucedale proceed south for approximately 10 km to McMurrich Township limits, then west for 2.5 km to outcrops comprising a low hill 300 metres north of Axe Creek; also outcrops 200 metres south of Axe Creek about 400 metres past the bridge.

Lithology Comments

Aug 02, 2013 (A Wilson) - Grey-pink vari-textured granitic gneiss with complex marble-like convoluted, veined, and banded patterns; 5-15 metres relief, several 20-tonne loose blocks; swirled pegmatitic injections; durable and competent stone; lively attractive appearance; moderate jointing; mottled with porphyroblastic mafic clots. Variable gneissic fabric averaging 114º/75ºW, migmatitic, contorted banding, regular moderate jointing at 36º/90º, 120º/90ºand other less common orientations.
