Belt: Batchawana

Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

Oct 28, 2013 (A Pace) - The area consists of metavolcanics, minor intercalated acid metavolcanics and iron formation. The rocks have been intruded by Archean granite, lower Keweenawan diabase dykes, and middle Kewwenawan felite dykes. The rocks assocaited with mminralization include gabro-diorite host rock and dacitic to rhyolite sequence portions of which are cherty and brecciated. A sulphide bearing cherty rhyolite sequence some 4000 feet north-northeast f the previous located high grade zinc at the Matinenda and north creek zone.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 28, 2013 (A Pace) - Minealized zones were found by Matnenda Urnaium Mines Ltd., in 1955. They identified these zones as the No. 1 and NO. 2 zones. The No. 1 zone showing is a large shear zone over thirty feet wide strikng east-west; it was discovered at a point where it crosses the Batchawana River. The shwoing is badly weathered and ozidized. Grab samples ahow 1.02% Cu and 0.07 oz gold per ton. The No. 2 zone shwoing is also located in a large shear zone striking almost due north. A channel sampled in the badly weathered shear gabve 0.76 oz Ag, 0.68% Pb, 4.91% Zn across half feet. From surface trenching and blasting the leaching and weathering will extend downward for 10 to 20 feet. Samnples that were not too badly weathered gave 0.21% Pb and 12.5 % Zn, 1.05 oz Ag, 2.96% Pb, 7.55% Zn, 1.17 oz Ag, 3.34% Pb and 15.05 % Zn. Loydex Resources Inc. discovered that hte zinc shoing occur within a dacitic to ryholite sequence that are cherty an dbrecciated. This sequences strikes north-south for a distance of 1500 feet and across its widest width of approximately 30 feet. The rhyolite sequence contacts mafic volcanics and gabbro to the west. A total of 9 map locations were samnples with 3 map locations identified as having significant assays. These locations include Map 1 locations returning 3.05% Zn, 0.74% Zn, 0.84% Zn with 0.41 oz/ton Ag, 0.24 oz/ton Ag, and 0.32 oz/ton Ag. Map 2 locations returning 13.82% Zn, 18.88% Zn, 0.88% Zn and 0.65% Zn with 2.80% Pb, 0.87 oz/ton Ag and 0.27 oz/ton Ag. Map 3 location returning 0.042 oz/ton Au.
