Exploration History

1934: Leslie Corbett sampled a number of widely spaced quartz veins in trenches and obtained up to 3 g/t Au (0.09opt) in channel samples from claim S. 24,803. The #4 post for this claim was supposedly located 400m east of a point where the township line intersected Schist Creek (Bagsverd Cr). Another vein was located with higher grade values in grab samples and a channel grading 1.7 g/t Au (0.05opt). This second vein was located in claim S. 24,936 which in turn was located just north of Bagsverd's lake South Arm with the #1 post on the shore of the main lake. 1984: Blue Falcon Mines carried out a regional airborne VLF-EM and magnetic survey which covered the area. 1985: Nu-Start Resources drilled three widely spaced holes on claims adjacent to the two original claims. These holes intersected a series of sericite schists described as both tuffaceous and sedimentary with minor gold values, up to 0.9 g/t (0.027opt) in small quartz carbonate veins. 1988: Seaway Base Metals Ltd held the ground and flew an airborne VLF electromagnetic and magnetic survey over the area. No ground follow-up has been reported from this survey. 1995: Duess, R. and Durham, B. – Assays, IP, Pr. 2007: Augen Gold Corp. – AEM, AMag, ARAD. 2008: Augen Gold Corp. – Assays, Pr. 2010: Trelawney Augen Acquisition Corp. – Assays, GC. Augen Gold Corp – EM, IP, Mag, RES. 2011: Sanatana Resources Inc. – AEM, AMag.

Geology Comments

Oct 29, 2013 (P Bousquet) - The lithology of the area consists of dacitic to andesitic flows, tuffs and breccias. More locally, the rocks were submitted to strain shown with elongated fragments.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Vein 1 Quartz Vein Host
Intermediate Tuff 2 Sericite Schist, Foliate, Tuff Near
Vein 3 Quartz Contains
Diabase 4 Diabase Massive Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Oct 29, 2013 (P Bousquet) - The lithology consists of intermediate tuffs that show increasing deformation until being transected by a diabase dyke. The intermediate tuff seems to go on afterwards, losing strain indicators (derived from T-2998).

Mineralization Comments

Oct 29, 2013 (P Bousquet) - Hole NS-85-2 intersected 4.1 feet of quartz-carbonate vein in a strained intermediate tuff which returned 0.027 oz/ton gold (T-2998).
