Province: Superior

Subprovince: Abitibi

Terrane: Wawa-Abitibi

Belt: Batchawana

Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

May 15, 2014 (A Pace) - The property covers Kewwenawan-age volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Mamainse Point Formation. This rock formation unconformably overlies Archean-age metavolcanic rocks of the Batchawana Greenston Belt. Copper mineralization in the form of chalcocite, chalcopyrite, bornite and native copper and other ore minerals are found in veins or in fractured rock along faults which trend at 160 degrees and 020 degrees and dip moderately to the east. The mineralizatioin is primarily hosted within the basalts.

Mineralization Comments

May 15, 2014 (A Pace) - Calcite and quartz veins and veinlets are found within faults and fractures trending from 340 to 020 degrees. The hematized host rocks are well fractured and veining often appears as a stock work or a series of parallel veins. In places, malachite and fine specks and coarser grains of chalcocite may be found within the calcite veining. In other location the chalcocite is massive ans swells to over 40 cm in width. A total of six channel samples, three chip samples and fourteen grab samples were taken from veining exposed along the 145 metres of the 51.8 zone trenching. Grab sample assays ranged from 0.07% Cu over 3.0 metres for 8.0 metres. The southern section of the trench returned a weighted average grade of 2.84% Cu over 3.0 metres for 17.0 metres. 2011 diamond drilling results include hole BCP-1-11 intersected 1.97% Cu and 20.85 g/t Ag over 5.58 m and hole BCP-4-11 intersected 1.40% Cu over 3.65 m.
