Access Description: The property is accessible by floatplane and helicopter in the summer and by snow mobile in the winter. The site is located 175 km north of the town of Nakina.



Exploration History

2008: Northern Shield Resources Ltd. staked the property, and conducted an airborne geophysical survey, till sampling, petrography, and drilled 6 DDH totalling 3026.1 m. 2010: Northern Shield and Discovery Harbour carried out surface and borehole geophysics, and drilled 3 DDH totalling 721.9 m.

Lithology Comments

Jan 29, 2019 (A Wilson) - The peridotitic rocks are locally cut by anastomosing arrays of magnetite and serpentine veins. The ultramafic sequence is cut by numerous fine-grained mafic dikes. Drill holes 01, 02, 05 and 06 also intersected the host mafic metavolcanic rocks at surface.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 15, 2014 (A Wilson) - Cr2O3 values for DDH 08MX02, DDH 08MX03, DDH 08MX05 and 08MX06 returned values ranging from 0.29% to 0.4% (1640 ppm to 2430 ppm). Ni values for the same drill holes returned values ranging from 1530-2750 ppm. Pt and Pd values for the same holes ranged from <0.005 to 0.02 ppm Pt and 0.016 to 0.031 ppm Pd.
