Geology Comments

Oct 21, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - Geological mapping carried out by Inco in 1990 identified mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks and diabase as the predominant rock types in the area of the occurrence. No significant sulphide mineralization was noted on surface (McEachern 1991 AFRI52H12SE0001). The showing is coincident with a northeast-trending fault structure shown on Map P.3423 and may represent a splay off the Garden lake Deformation Zone (Hart 2000 OFR6037).

Mineralization Comments

Oct 21, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - An assay of 1.6 g/t Au over 0.35 m is reported to have been obtained from a diamond drill hole advanced at this location by Inco in 1967 (Berrer 1991 AFRI52H12SE0003). The drill hole was advanced to test coincident magnetic and electromagnetic anomalies that are related to graphitic schist mineralized with up to 20% pyrite + pyrrhotite occurring as stringers and veinlets (AFRI 52H12SE0004).
