Mineralization Comments

Jan 29, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - The FN-series of holes, drilled from McKenzie Island, were designed to provide reconnaissance information in the SE portion of the property. DDH FN2-1 was collared from the same location as FN1-1, but was turned to explore the southern border of the property. Metasedimentary rocks of the Confederation and Bruce Channel assemblages were intersected to 1960 m, and Balmer Assemblage metavolcanic rocks extended from 1960 m to the end of the hole at 2519 m. Gold was encountered in veining within the metasedimentary rocks. The FN-series holes collared SSW of the current southern end of the Au-mineralized envelope successfully intersected favourable host rocks, carbonate-silica-altered zones and gold-mineralized rocks similar to those at the Bruce Channel discovery 450 m to the NNE. This new zone has been called the Finn Zone, after Finntown, one of the first settlements on McKenzie Island. Assays from first four holes ranged from 4.10 to 42.63 g/t Au (OFR6216 p. 22). The FN 1-4 wedge hole was started from the FN 1-3 at a depth of 1,697 m and intersected clastic metasediments and iron formation of the Bruce Channel Assemblage to 1964 m and variably altered volcanic and associated sedimentary rocks of the Balmer Assemblage to the final hole depth of 2528 m. FN 1-4 intersected gold from 2435.9-2436.6 m and assayed 3.66 g/t Au. DDH FN 1-5 tested the western side of the Finn Zone, with assays of 5.35 g/t Au (2090.2-2091.9 m) and 3.80 m (2098.0-2099.15 m) and visible gold (Gold Eagle Mines press release, Dec 6, 2007).
