Lithology Comments

Mar 23, 2015 (A Wilson) - Asbestos fibres were observed in peridotite in 2 places in Cairo Township. Asbestos was observed west of Highway 65 in strongly serpentinized peridotite. This occurrence has had limited diamond-drill testing in the 1950s but the showing was determined to be uneconomic at this time. Gold and silver are associated with iron formation.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 23, 2015 (A Wilson) - The No. 2 drill hole completed by the Rochester and Pittsburgh coal Company intersected 120 feet of core which contained numerous fractures filled with cross-fibre asbestos. A bulk sample of 94 pounds collected by S. Welch returned an estimated $6.22 asbestos ($596.00 per ton of No 1 fibre) and an estimated average of $1.47 asbestos ($499.50 per ton of No 2 fibre). The asbestos fibres are described as coarse and had a maximum length of approximately 1 inch. Samples of the drill core by Newmont returned 0.135 oz/t Au and 0.033 oz/t Ag from cherty pyritic exhalite (unknown width); and 0.34 oz/t Au and 0.093 oz/t Ag.
