Exploration History

TerraX’s assessment reports state that they have historic documents for the Burger zone, with a letter dated from 1930, but none of the historic work done on the property was documented. The area around the Sunbeam and Pettigrew properties has been explored for gold since the late 1890s. 2009: TerraX optioned the property and conducted prospecting and sampling.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 23, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - In 2009, TerraX collected a sample from the extension to the historic Burger Zone that assayed 4.05 g/t Au. A historic report in TerraX’s collection indicated that the showing consists of quartz veins with pyrite, arsenopyrite, galena and sphalerite associated with northeast-trending mafic dikes. The veins dip steeply to the southeast. A letter written in 1930 says that the veins are traceable for 2000’ and have six trenches across them. Average assays were $6/ton (0.3 oz/t or 10.3 g/t based on $20 gold). The Burger lineament was one of four lineaments identified by TerraX in 2009. Lineaments are generally small valleys or depressions, typically with incomplete surface exposure. Intermittent alteration and mineralization were noted along the lineaments over strike lengths of up to 9 km, with numerous examples of previously undocumented alteration and mineralization discovered during prospecting (AFRI 20000006911).
