Exploration History

1942: Zinc and copper mineralization in pyrite with pyrrhotite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite was first identified by H.S. Rose, exposed in an outcrop described as resembling the dalmatianite of the Amulet Mine. 1942: Connel Mining and Exploration drilled 5 short diamond drill-holes in the discovery outcrop and 2 drill-holes to the southwest with no significant sulphide intersections. 1971: Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. Conducted ground VLF-EM and magnetometer surveys which outlined several weak, discrete magnetic features and four conductive zones none of which corresponded to the Rose Showing. 1980: Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. completed another ground magnetometer survey that identified 6 linear and point features; one of which corresponded with the Rose showing. 1981-1983 Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. drilled 17 holes totaling 3690’ which targeted the identified magnetic features. 1992: Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. completed 2 diamond drill holes east and south of the Rose showing totaling 916m. 2006-2007: Goldstake Explorations Inc. conducted surface work on the Rose Showing including stripping and channel sampling as well as heavy mineral samples and microscope studies. 2008: Goldstake Explorations Inc. carried out 11km of line-cutting, and 12 line km of ground geophysics including electromagnetic very low frequency, and magnetometer surveys.

Lithology Comments

Aug 29, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - North-south trending stringer sulphide zone exposed on outcrop surface. Host rocks are mafic-intermediate metavolcanic flow rocks with strong dalmatianite (clots of cordierite and biotite) alteration. Characteristic of some stringer zones beneath VMS deposits in the Blake River Assemblage of Quebec (i.e. the Amulet Mine).

Mineralization Comments

Aug 29, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - Drilling done between 1981 and 1983 by Noranda found dalmatianite which hosted up to 2.78% Zn and 0.1% Cu over 4.5’. One hole drilled by Noranda in 1992 intersected 2 mineralized intervals of 0.7 m @ 0.26% Zn and 0.03% Cu and 0.3 m @ 0.14% Zn. Samples analyzed by Goldstake Explorations Inc. in 2007 returned up to 3.54% Zn and up to 0.42% Cu on grab and channel samples of up to 0.73% and 0.06% Cu over 4.2 m.
