Mineralization Comments

Jul 15, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - Disseminated sulphides, including pyrite and galena, occur along the contacts between quartz veins and wall rocks. Portions of this outcrop exposure display intense wall rock alteration. One zone of particular interest occurs immediately below a near horizontal quartz vein (Figure 14). The granodiorite in this zone appears to have been largely altered to sericite and iron carbonate and contains disseminated sulphides. A grab sample of this intensely altered granodiorite (MPWR1304) returned 2377 ppb Au.

May 29, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - Gold at the North Zone is associated with a sulphide-mineralized quartz-carbonate stockwork system with variable vein orientations (although many veins tend to strike north). Anomalous gold values are also obtained from altered granodiorite (AFRI 2.56425). Sample 16DCJF002B assayed 1.116 opt Au, 2.8 opt Ag, and 16,481 ppm Pb from narrow quartz vein with 5% pyrite and galena. Sample 16DCJF006 from what is called the Hematite Zone assayed 0.152 opt Au, 4.9 opt Ag, and 22,068 ppm Pb from a flat-lying sheet quartz vein with galena, pyrite, hematite, and carbonate (AFRI 2.57754). W. Richards has collected a grab sample that assayed up to 50.1 gpt Au (Puumala et al., 2016).
