Exploration History

Circa 1961: L Malcolm staked the property as a copper prospect and optioned it to Prospectors Airways Ltd. 1963: A VLF-EM survey was flown delineating a 2km long conductive zone. 1965: W.H. Morrison drilled 1 ddh in Con VI south half of Lot 24 returning 12m graphite-pyrrhotite zone. 2011-2012: Standard Graphite Corp. flew TDEM covering this property and the neighbouring Little-Bryan Prospect and delineated 3 distinct conductors under both properties; MPH conducted reconnaissance sampling over the conductors confirming the presence of graphite associated with both conductive trends. 2015:stripping, prospecting and Beep-Mat survey, channel sampling and detailed geological mapping was conducted over the southern of the 2 TDEM anomalies with graphite up to 9.81% Cg (a calculated value: graphite as carbon = total carbon less the amount of carbon present as CO2); prospecting confirmed the presence of graphite mineralization in the northern TDEM anomaly.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 08, 2016 (L Hall) - The graphite-pyrrhotite unit occurs at the contact between the marbles (to the north) and siliceous paragneiss (to the south) in rusty quartz-rich gneiss. Graphite also occurs in the marbles with little to no pyrrhotite. Channel samples across the ‘Central Zone’ has returned 3.07% Cg over 8 m (Trench 1); 2.97 % Cg over 7m (Trench 2); 2.05% Cg over 10m (Trenches 3 & 4); and 3.13% Cg over 10m (Trenches 5 & 6). Cg is a calculated value: graphite as carbon = total carbon less the amount of carbon present as CO2.
