Geology Comments

Aug 11, 2016 (L Hall) - Mafic volcanic and clastic metasedimentary rocks of the Tudor Group form a 3 – 5 km wide, NNW trending belt sandwiched between carbonate-dominated metasedimentary rocks of the Belmont domain to the west and the Elsevir felsic pluton to the east. Nearby gold occurrences including the Barry, Sophia and Mono sites. Gold bearing quartz veins in these occurrences are hosted in sheared and iron-carbonate (+/- biotite; +/- pyrite) altered mafic metavolcanic rocks in proximity with the clastic metasedimentary rocks.
