Access Description: The prospect can be accessed via all weather gravel logging roads, that branch off of the Inco mine road. The Inco mine road is located at' the Highway # 11 junction in Shebandowan Ontario. The moose calf logging road transects the southwest corner of the claim hosting the prospect. The central claims can be accessed by skidder or all terrain vehicle via a logging haul road that crosses through the central part of the claim group.

Exploration History

Gold was first noted in the Gold Creek area by government geologists in 1896. 1950-1960: Monpre Iron Mines Limited completed geological and geophysical surveys followed by diamond drilling (19 diamond drill holes/3.228 metres) and bulk metallurgical tests over the Matawin Iron Range. 1958: George Chilian excavated four trenches and drilled 10 diamond drill holes (172 metres) at the Chilian showing located near the western end of Sand Lake. 1988: Inco staked the Gold Creek East property and geologically mapped the area resulting in the discovery of 4 zones of gold mineralization. A 49.6 line km magnetometer survey was completed over the property. 1989: The Aa and Ab zones were stripped mechanically. Four diamond drill holes (243.84 metres) were completed to test these showings. 1990: Inco completed 7 diamond drill holes for a total of 664.34 metres plus stripping and washing of the Aa and Ab zones was completed followed by detailed geological mapping and geochemical sampling (216 rock samples). An IP survey consisting of one line kilometre was surveyed over the Aa zone. Five diamond drill holes (368.82 metres) were completed at the Aa zone in the fall of 1990. 1997: Seven diamond drill holes totaling 81411 metres were drilled on the Gold Creek East property. Prospecting located several interesting showings. One grab sample returned a value of 14.146 ppb Au (0.413 oz/t) from a narrow quartz veinlet hosted within a medium grained Timiskaming-type sediment. An induced polarization survey completed over the western end of the claim group delineated several conductive zones and aided in the interpretation of geological structures and alteration. Three trenches were excavated within the Gold Creek East claim group. Trench #3 is located entirely within the Gold Creek East property while trenches #1 and #5 straddle the Moose Calf - Gold Creek East boundary. 2003: J&J Hackl completed a program of prospecting, trenching and sampling. 2006: J&J Hackl completed a 22 m DDH into the Carb Zone. 2010: North American Palladium Ltd. drilled 5 DDH totalling 2046 m. 2011: North American Palladium flew an airborne magnetic survey. 2012: North American Palladium carried out stripping and sampling.

Geology Comments

Aug 16, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - The geology of the southern section of the claims consists of immature "Timiskaming Type" , quartz-feldspar-amphibole rich metasediments ranging from conglomerates through sandstone, siltstone and argillite. A fine grained magnetite rich argillite/ siltstone crosses the south-west portion of the property. A metasedimentary unit of mafic composition with jasper clasts crosses the central area of the property near the interpreted break between the Timiskaming and the Keewatin aged rock.Late stage biotite rich lampophyre dykes intrude all other rock types with the majority occurring within the coarse grained "Timiskaming Type" sandstone in the southern half of the property.

Oct 04, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The property is situated in the western portion of the Shebandowan-Wawa greenstone terrain, part of the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield. Keewatin metavolcanic rocks, including komatiitic, tholeiitic, calc-alkalic, high potassium calc-alkalic and shoshonite affinities are the main constituents of the belt. Intercalated flysch type sediments locally occur. Mafic and felsic intrusives, such as the Shebandowan Lake Stock, cut all lithologies. Timiskaming-type sediments and associated high potassic calc-alkalic and shoshonitic volcanics unconformably overlie Keewatin lithologies. These are all cut by late diabase and lamprophyre dikes (Carter, 1987; Assessment report 20000006775).

Mineralization Comments

Aug 16, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - Trenching revealed a shear zone which returned 12.06 grams per ton gold. All samples gave highly anomalous results in both trenches, ranging from 12.06 grams per ton gold to 286 ppb gold. Gold is very nuggety with samples of VG assaaying up to 23.39 g/t.

Oct 04, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - DDH MC10-001 returned 2.27 ppm Au over 1 m from 131-132 m depth in quartz-carbonate veins contained in an interbedded siltstone/mudstone with minor fine-grained sandstone; and 1.2 ppm Au over 1 m from 175-176 m depth in pyrite fracture fills contained in interbedded siltstone/mudstone. DDH MC10-002 returned 2.09 ppm Au over 1 m from 23 to 24 m depth from a banded iron formation and 1.35 ppm Au over 1 m from 35 to 36 m depth from a banded iron formation] (Assessment report 20000006775). Trench MCTR12-05 returned 1 m of 1.53 g/t Au (sample MCTR12-05-075) from sandstone (Assessment report 20000008866).

Alteration Comments

Oct 04, 2022 (Andrew Tims) - Alteration consists of fuchsite, silica flooding, pervasive chlorite and ankerite.
