Point Location Description: GPS

Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: Access to the property is relatively simple, from Highway #11, enter the Shebandowan turn-off and keep going on the paved road leading to the former Inco Shebandowan Mine. About 2 kilometres from the highway, a main logging gravel road, the Duckworth road, heading south, gives a good access to the claims.

Exploration History

1896: In the Goldcreek area, gold was first reported by government geologist on the shores of Gold Creek and these old workings are still evident today. The property at the time was known as the Quartzite Mine and located within the confines of the Creek Zone. 1943-44: Gunflint Iron Mines Ltd. completed a surface work program of prospecting, channel sampling and 2,796 feet (852 m) of diamond drilling (12 holes) to test the Matawin iron formation, 1956-57: Monpre Mining Company Ltd. explored a block of claims along the Matawin iron formation in central Duckworth and Laurie townships. Ground geophysics, geological mapping and 10,592 feet (3,228 m) of diamond drilling delineated 100 million tons of 30% Fe and an open pit mining pre-feasibility plan was prepared. 1983-84: John Ternowesky, D. Walsten and W. Hayne staked several claims in the Goldcreek area in 1983 and optioned them to Jalna Resources Ltd. Jalna completed a significant exploration program including ground and airborne surveys, geological mapping, geochemical surveys, trenching, sampling and overburden drilling. The Jalna exploration program consisted in mapping 50.2 line miles (81 km), Magnetic ground survey 34.1 line miles (54.9 km), I.P. 17.5 line miles (28.2 km), VLF-EM16 ground survey 4.6 line miles (7.4 km), airborne-geophysics 420 line miles (676 km), overburden drilling (243 holes), soil sampling (2,352 samples) and assaying by ICP method 30 elements plus gold by FA, rock chip analysis of 283 samples and assaying by ICP method 30 elements plus gold by FA, 18 pits excavated and 2,090 feet (637 m) of trenching. Jalna outlined several gold mineralized zones with disseminated pyrite in sericitized felsic volcanics – felsic sericite schists coinciding with gold arsenic geochemical anomalies (North, South, Ternowesky and Creek zones). Jalna through the supervision of GML Minerals Ltd. subcontracted Paterson, Grant and Watson Ltd. to do ground magnetics and IP geophysics on the Goldcreek Property. 1984-1985Anaconda Canada Exploration Ltd. (“Anaconda”) followed up the work completed by Jalna with 3,665 feet (1117 m) of diamond drilling, in 13 holes and confirmed the anomalous gold values over large areas in the I-Zone areas, South-Zone, North-Zone, Ternowesky Zone and Creek-Zone. The highest gold value obtained on the drilling program between the North Zone and South Zone was 4.1 g/t Au and at the Ternowesky Vein an intersection of 18 metre depth assayed 0.77 g/t Au over 1.0 m. The Ternowesky Showing was tested with hole GC-5 testing a surface mineralization of 1.0 m wide by 12.0 m in strike length assaying 35.65 g/t Au and 295 g/t Ag. 1987: Inco Gold Company (“Inco”) prospected over several areas and selected areas of anomalous gold mineralization were stripped and trenched.

Geology Comments

Aug 18, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - The NE trending Ternowesky Zone, sited entirely within the felsic-intermediate metavolcanic complex, is exposed in several outcrops from Gold Creek to an outcrop on the east side of the lumber road and in an outcrop-trench and small pit in the woods to the west of the road. Massive, feldspar- and quartz-phyric dacite (unit la) in thewestern part of the zone passes into the more proximal intrusive-extrusive porphyry complex, characterized by many crosscutting contacts (unit Ib). Hydrothermal fracturing and intense sericite-pyrite alteration are locally pervasive in the roadside outcrop and very locally in the pit.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 18, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - The felsic, silicified, sericitized, pyritized schists – felsic volcanics/tuffs contain 0.5% to 2% disseminated pyrite and with locally strongly oxidized zones with 8% sulphides – 5% to 7% pyrite, 1% to 2% galena and traces of chalcopyrite and sphalerite. Assay values of 293.52 g/t Au (8.5 oz/t), 1090 g/t Ag, 0.81% Pb, 0.07% Cu and 0.04% Zn; 2.67 g/t Au, 0.03% Pb and 0.08% Zn and 0.71 g/t Au, 0.05% Pb and 0.10% Zn are common. In the Ternowesky Zone (T Zone), Jalna selected grab samples which can be traced along a strike length of 12.2 m and averaging 0.9 m in width grades 32.34 g/t Au and 267.45 g/t Ag. There is also some sphalerite and galena present assaying 0.31% Zn and 0.02% Pb (W.Hanych 1984). Grab samples collected of vein material within pyritic sericite schists assayed up to 92.30 g/t Au and 1268.83 g/t Ag.
