Mineral Deposit Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
vein 1 quartz host
porphyry 2 quartz-feldspar host

Lithology Comments

11/27/2017 (T Pettigrew) - Work on the Minnitaki property has indicated the presence of a large quartz-feldspar porphyry body that is variably silicified, carbonatized, and pyrite mineralized. This unit is at least 500 m wide by 1400 m long, located on the east end of the peninsula between Pickerel Arm of Minnitaki Lake and the main body of Minnitaki Lake (AFRI 52F16NE2006).

Mineralization

Deposit Mineralization and Alteration
Rank Mineral Name Class Economic Mineral Type Alteration Mineral Type Alteration Ranking Alteration Intensity Habit Description
1 pyrite economic ore
2 gold economic ore
1 quartz economic gangue
silica alteration silicification 1 unknown disseminated
carbonate alteration carbonatization 2 unknown disseminated

Mineralization Comments

11/27/2017 (T Pettigrew) - The 2002 drill program indicated the presence of a stockwork of quartz-carbonate veins within the porphyry, with varying degrees of silicification and sericitic, potassic, and hematitic alteration. Gold mineralization appears to be ubiquitous in the presence of any degree of alteration, but does not correlate well with pyrite content. Samples from the 1999 trenching program returned assays ranging from 1100-29790 ppb Au. DDH TAK-99-08 assayed 4.80 gpt over 0.5 m from 136.0-136.5 m. Assays from TAK-99-10 included 2.082 gpt Au over 31.83 m from 3.57-35.40 m, including 11.778 gpt Au over 2.88 m from 25.5-25.38 m and 7.632 gpt Au over 1.10 m from 34.3-35.4 m. DDH TAK-02-01 assayed 6.2 gpt Au over 1.2 m from 124.8-126.0 m. DDH TAK-02-04 assayed 2.9 gpt Au over 1.4 m. TAK-02-06 assayed 3.08 gpt Au over 7.57 m from 27.27-35.3 m and 7.0 gpt Au over 1.1 m from 81.3-82.4 m. DDH TAK-02-07 assayed 3.18 gpt over 8.7 m from 27.7-36.4 m including 8.62 gpt Au over 0.4 m from 27.7-28.2 m, 9.67 gpt Au over 0.8 m from 29.45-30.25 m and 7.57 gpt Au over 1.4 m from 35.0-36.4 m (AFRI 52F16NE2006).
