Subprovince: Wabigoon

Belt: Fort Frances-mine Centre

Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

12/20/2017 (C Ravnaas) - The Seine Bay/Bad Vermilion Lake intrusion consists of a series of continuous to semi continuous layers or lenses striking generally east – west. Dip of the layers varies similarly from sub-vertical in the west to 30 - 60 degrees in the east, again changing in the Snake Lake area. The intrusion is 750 to 1000 meters thick, and spans the Mine Centre property from west to east. At the southern extent, the intrusion is in contact with mafic volcanic rocks and at the northern extent, the intrusion is in contact with felsic intrusive rocks from page 8 AFRO 2.44256.

Lithology Comments

12/20/2017 (C Ravnaas) - Lithologically, the intrusion consists of anorthositic to gabbroic to pyroxenitic rocks with interlayered and tense-like bodies of massive and semi-massive oxide. Typically, the rocks are medium- to coarse-grained, however very coarse-grained to pegmatitic rocks are common, especially within several hundred meters of the lower contact with mafic volcanic rocks page 9 AFRO 2.44256. Massive, semi-massive, and disseminated accumulations of Fe - Ti mineralization are extensive across the Intrusion. Massive and semi-massive layers or lenses occur as part of the mafic layered intrusive package of anorthositic, gabbroic, and pyroxenitic rocks that make up the Seine Bay/Bad Vermilion Lake intrusion page 14 AFRO 2.44256.

Mineralization Comments

12/20/2017 (C Ravnaas) - 0.5m channel sample- 0.49% Cu, 0.48% Ni, 0.35 gpt Pt, 0.09 gpt Pd, 0.09 pt Au & 3.00 gpt Ag. DDH NU10-05 - 0.33% Cu / 9m and 0.23% Cu /6m

07/15/2020 (T Pettigrew) - DDH NU-05-10 was drilled from the Discovery Zone trench, collaring in basalt at a depth of 5.3 meters. NU-05-10 dominantly consists of randomly intermixed basaltic rocks, gabbroic rocks, and fault breccia. The fault breccia seems to largely be composed of randomly sized and oriented blocks of basalt and gabbro, which have experienced differing intensities of alteration, schistosity, and brecciation. At a depth (hole depth) of 162 meters, NU-05-10 intersected a 6 meter thick zone of massive, semi-massive, and net-textured sulfide, showing strong copper and nickel mineralization. The weighted averages for this zone include: 9 meters (162 m to 171 m) of copper at 0.33%, and 6 meters (162 m to 168 m) of nickel at 0.23% (Assessment report 20000007745). Channel sample 123551 returned 102 ppb Au, 304 ppb Pd, 278 ppb Pd, 0.453% Cu, 0.055% Ni and 0.014% Co over 0.5 m in a gabbro. Channel sample 336982 returned 4945 pm Cu, 4840 ppm Ni, 1022 ppm Co, 90 ppb Au, 351 ppb Pt, and 80 ppb Pd over 0.5 m from a hornblende gabbro with 10-40% massive seams of net textured pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, and bornite (Assessment report 20000001780). DDH NU-07-01 returned up to 0.15% Cu, 0.083% Ni, 0.12 g/t Pt, and 0.22 g/t Au (Assessment report 20000003443).
