Mineralization Comments

Dec 05, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Redstone occurrence is situated along the outer margin of the Eastern Gabbro in the northwest corner of the Coldwell Complex. The mineralized zone strikes near east-west, dips between 30 and 45 degrees south and is continuous along strike for 450 m. The zone extends down dip for at least 200 m and is open to the west. The mineralization consists of disseminated chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and trace bornite and is hosted in a complicated assemblage of Marathon Series rocks. The upper portion of the sequence is dominated by oxide melatroctolite with minor Two Duck Lake gabbro, and the lower zone is composed predominantly of Marathon Series breccia units. The lower breccia units are composed of Two Duck Lake gabbro intermixed with oxide melatroctolite and numerous xenoliths of the Fine-Grained Series and/or metavolcanic footwall. Assays from the 2013 drill program were up to 0.30% Cu, 0.47 ppm Pd, 0.21 ppm Pt, and 0.11 ppm Au (Assessment file 20000014536). Samples collected in 1967 returned assays of up to 0.016% U3O8 (Assessment file 42D16NW8368).
