Mineralization Comments

Jun 27, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - The McFaulds deposits are hosted within a northeast-trending, northwest-facing, folded sequence of altered felsic to intermediate tuffs and lesser flows deposited into an interpreted half graben based on the asymmetry of the volcanic basin. Mineralization consists dominantly of pyrite-chalcopyrite-sphalerite rich banded sulfides and stringers. Broad zones of chlorite alteration mark the exhalative horizons. Noront discovered the McFaulds No. 8 zone in DDH MCF-17-88, which returned 2.0% Cu, 3.6% Zn, and 7.8 g/t Ag over 9.0 m. DDH MCF-18-98 returned 26.4 m at 2.1% Cu, 3.4% Zn, 5.5 g/t Ag. The Cu-rich Main Zone from 711.0-727.7 m returned 3.1% Cu, 1.8% Zn, and 7.3 g/t Ag, including the high-grade Cu base from 725.7-727.7 m with 8.9% Cu, 11.4% Zn, and 19.8% Ag. The Zn-rich Main Zone from 724.7-733.8 m returned 2.5% Cu, 9.7% Zn, and 6.7 g/t Ag, including the high-grad Zn base from 730.3-733.8 m with 0.6% Cu, 14.2% Zn, and 3.5 g/t Ag. DDH MCF-18-92 returned 1.3% Cu, 5.9% Zn, 10.3 g/t Ag, and 0.5 g/t Au. The McFaulds No. 8 zone is 175 m into the footwall of the McFaulds No. 3 zone. The McFaulds VMS deposits are situated within in a structurally controlled volcanic basin near the top of the Muketei Assemblage, stratigraphically above the ultramafic sills hosting the Ni-Cu-PGE and chromite resources and above the large Thunderbird layered ferrogabbro body (Noront website: http://norontresources.com/projects/mcfaulds-deposit/; Noront press release, October 2, 2018).
