Mineralization Comments

07/25/2019 (T Pettigrew) - A narrow, north trending (N10E) shear zone cross cuts a series of intermediate to mafic volcanic flows striking N45E. Narrow quartz veins and zones of quartz carbonate cemented breccia occur within the shear and locally contain heavy arsenopyrite, pyrite and pyrrhotite mineralization. A series of trenches expose the shear for over 800 feet (243.8 m); these were all sampled. The results indicate that the better gold values occur in the south where Amax drilled and decrease in a northerly direction. For example, in the most southerly trench, assays range from 0.002 to 0.307 oz./ton Au (0.06-9.54 g/t Au), central trench 0.08 oz./ton Au (2.49 g/t Au), northern trench 0.016 oz./ton Au (0.5 g/t Au) (Assessment file 42L07NW0006). DDH 1087-5, drilled by Amax in 1982, returned 0.52 ppm Au over 1.45 m from quartz and quartz-carbonate stringers and veinlets in an andesitic pillow breccia zone. The veinlets contained up to 5% arsenopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, and chalcopyrite. DDH 1087-2 returned 0.81 ppm Au over 0.53 m from quartz and quartz-carbonate stringers with up to 10-15% arsenopyrite and pyrite with traces of chalcopyrite and sphalerite. The sulphides occur in blebs and thin stringers (Assessment file 42L07NW0008). Samples collected by R. Hodgson in 2017 returned values of up to 2.334 ppm Au, over 10,000 ppm As, 1275 ppm Cu, and 1269 ppm Mn (Assessment file 20000015578).
