Location Method: data compilation

Access Description: The property is approximately 9 km north of the village of Kakabeka Falls. Direct access to the property is via Mokomon Road, which provides access to a series of rural and logging roads.

Exploration and Mining History

1956: New Fortune Mines Ltd. conducted an airborne magnetometer survey. 1961: Hanna Mining Company optioned the property. 1962: Hanna Mining Company conducted magnetometer and geological surveys. 1993: K. Kukee conducted trenching and sampling. 2011: Atlas Mining Ltd. conducted a helicopter-born high resolution magnetic and VLF-EM survey, prospecting and sampling. 2012: Atlas Mining carried out trenching and sampling.

Lithology Comments

09/11/2019 (T Pettigrew) - Sample descriptions include banded magnetite and grey chert intermixed with siltstone, banded hematite and jasper, and crudely bedded conglomerate with banded iron formation fragments (Assessment report 20000007495).

Mineralization Comments

09/11/2019 (T Pettigrew) - Iron reported as Fe2O3 ranged in values from a low of 15.04% to a high of 52.16%. Only 3 samples were below 20% Fe2O3 and were spatially located within 5-7 meters. 12 samples were over 35% Fe2O3 and all trenches had the iron formation open to the northeast. Gold assays returned values of 6-35 ppb Au (Assessment report 20000007495).
