09/30/2019 (T Pettigrew) - The occurrence consists of sheared wacke up to 1 m wide (strike 073 degrees) in close contact with banded oxide ironstone to the south. The shear zone contains en echelon quartz-carbonate veins, veinlets and lenses ranging from 5 to 30 cm wide with a maximum width of 1.5 m (vein exhibits pinch and swell feature). Small scale evidence for shearing is indicated by rounded, rotated quartz eyes within the wacke. Crack-seal textures with chlorite-sericite alteration predominate in the quartz vein material (alteration was also observed in sheared wall rock). Mineralization is primarily restricted to the wacke and consists of disseminated euhedral pyrite (1%), arsenopyrite (<1%), and possible tetrahedrite (Mason and White, 1986). Nipigon Gold’s DDH NG-89-02 returned up to 0.254 ppm Au and DDH NG-89-03 returned up to 0.368 ppm Au from quartz veins containing pyrite in iron formation (Assessment report 52H09SE0026). Sample G31109 returned an assay of 1.2 g/t Au. Sample G31281 returned an assay of 2640 ppm Cu from a 14 cm wide quartz-carbonate vein with 30% sulphides, including arsenopyrite and cubes of hematite (Assessment report 20000008634).
