Mineralization Comments

Jan 21, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - Quartz veining in BIF, similar to NE Powder House (Assessment report 20000007731). The Sawmill occurrence was discovered in 1936 and was described by Thomson (1938) as: "... two small veins about 10 feet apart that occur in greenstone and iron formation. The total length of the quartz veins on surface is less than 50 feet, and the width ranges from 4 to 20 inches. The filling is quartz and carbonate with a little visible gold. The vein was drilled in 1936. Mine officials reported that the two veins carried values over an aggregate length of 70 feet." Channel samples from Trench D over the Sawmill Vein returned assays of 7.05 g/t Au over 5.9 m including 18.72 g/t Au over 1.4 m and 10.21 g/t Au over 1 m from quartz-ankerite veining in sheared banded iron formation (BIF), and 12.27 g/t Au over 9.5 m including 55.55 g/t Au over 2 m from quartz-ankerite veining in sheared BIF (Assessment report 20000008078). DDH PC-10-109 returned assays of 3.109 g/t Au over 0.6 m and 4.234 g/t Au over 0.77 m from an area of quartz flooding in a BIF (Assessment report 20000013701). The Sawmill is one of the major anticlines on the property. The large D2 folds outlined by the BIF include the Pickle Crow Anticline, Pickle Crow Syncline, Sawmill Anticline and Powder House Anticline. High angle quartz veinlets, plunging to the northeast and perpendicular to the strike of the host iron formation, have been observed in the arsenopyrite-poor iron formation mineralization at the Sawmill Vein (Hennessey, 2018).
