Mineralization Comments

Jun 06, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - Overall the exposure of the vein system found at the North Melema extension was generally poor because the east contact was never visible, making it difficult to determine the true width. The vein system was traced intermittently along the northwest side of a ridge for approximately 310 m. The vein system consists of a bull white quartz vein and quartz-carbonate stringers in altered tonalite. The tonalite is variably altered consisting of quartz, feldspar, carbonate and chlorite with accessory pyrite and chalcopyrite. It is generally buff white to grey or pink; however, sometimes bleached white, massive to foliated, medium to intense carbonate alteration, quartz stringers ranging from white to glassy or grey, minor brecciation, patchy chlorite, biotite and trace to blebby pyrite and chalcopyrite (Puumala et al., 2019).
