Oct 03, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Joy property is generally overlain by overburden cover up to 30 m in thickness. Interpretation of geology is based largely on ground geophysics, diamond drilling, and limited outcrop on the northern portion of the property. The Joy Property is underlain by an east-west to east-northeast trending, steeply south dipping sequence of volcanic rocks which consist of undifferentiated, strongly altered and metamorphosed felsic to intermediate pyroclastics and subvolcanic quartz-feldspar porphyritic intrusives. This sequence is underlain to the north by basalt flows, and has been intruded to the south by regional granitic to granodiorite intrusives. The volcanic rocks are representative of the third cycle of volcanism of the Confederation Lake Volcanic Belt. The volcanic rocks exhibit widespread hydrothermal alteration mineral assemblages consisting of chlorite-biotite-sericite-cordierite garnet ± anthophyllite. The observed alteration mineral assemblages are consistent with hydrothermally altered volcanics typical of a VMS mineralizing environment which have been overprinted by a strong (ie upper greenschist-lower amphibolite) regional metamorphic event (Assessment report 52K14NE2015).

Oct 03, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Joy property host several zones of Cu-Zn rich massive to stringer sulphide mineralization localized along at least two stratigraphic horizons within the felsic pyroclastic volcanics. The northern horizon hosts the Joy-Diamond Willow-Creek zones over a 2.3 km strike length while the southern horizon hosts the South and Caravelle zones. The former is characterized by Cu-rich Zn mineralization, while the latter is characterized by Zn-rich mineralization with little or no Cu enrichment. The Diamond Willow Zone was discovered by Noranda in 1993 while drilling an off-hole BHPEM anomaly 1.1 km east of the Joy Zone along the same stratigraphic horizon. It has been tested along strike for 300 m and to a vertical depth of 300 m. Drilling suggests a shallow easterly plunge. Mineralization is hosted by an intensely altered felsic lapilli tuff and is localized at the contact with a siliceous tuff/metasediment unit. Mineralization consists of massive sulphide, 60% pyrrhotite, 5% pyrite, 1-5% chalcopyrite and 2% sphalerite. The discovery hole returned 2.26% Cu, 1.81% Zn, and 0.29 opt Ag over 4.20 m. The zone remains open to the east along strike and down plunge (Assessment report 52K14NE2015).
