Exploration History

Early 1980s: prospector D.O. Baker carried out prospecting and sampling, and optioned the property to Hollinger Argus. 1984: Hollinger Argus carried out mapping and sampling. 1985: D.O. Baker formed Verse Lake Mining and Exploration Ltd. and carried out stripping and sampling. 1985-86: Glen Auden Resources Ltd. entered into a JV agreement with Verse Lake Mining and flew an airborne VLF-EM and magnetometer survey. 1986: Glen Auden Resources carried out mapping and sampling. 1988: Glen Auden Resources drilled 5 DDH totalling 536 m on the property, including 1 DDH totalling 154.8 m on the North showing. 1989: Placer Dome Inc. conducted magnetic and VLF-EM surveys, and drilled 8 DDH totalling 1405.5 m.

Nov 29, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - On the property, supracrustal rocks define a synformal axis that has been refolded and faulted, probably due to a granite intrusion on the west side of the property, and a granodioritic intrusion on the east side of the property. The supracrustal package consists of a central pile, up to 1200 m thick, of variable felsic (dacitic) distal tuffs and their volcanoclastic equivalents, bounded to the north by predominantly mafic coarse clastic metasediments, and bounded to the south by predominantly felsic to intermediate volcanoclastic metasediments. Innumerable l narrow, amphibolitized mafic sills have intruded semi-concordant with the above mentioned stratigraphy. Several types of felsic to intermediate porphyry dikes and sills are found intruding the felsic tuffs. All the rock types are cut by post tectonic north-northwest trending diabase dikes (Assessment report 41O05SE0008).

Lithology Comments

Nov 29, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The coarse ash tuff is found throughout the felsic metatuff sequence. The rocks are quite variable in texture and with increasing schistosity grades into a quartz-feldspar-biotite schist. In general, the rock consists of an aphanitic to fine grained grey-green tuffaceous matrix hosting an average 50% felsic fragments and broken feldspar crystals and rare (less than 5%) dark quartz eyes. Fragments are generally subangular, range up to 4 mm and average 1-2 mm in size. The coarse ash tuff weathers irregularly to a "swiss cheese" type texture. The rock is moderately foliated with up to 5% biotite and sericite defining foliation. In places, sericite content ranges up to 10%. Pyrite is found ubiquitously in this unit as fine disseminations of from 1 to 5%, and where sheared, up to 8%. This is the main rock type hosting both the Labmin and North showings. The quartz-sericite schist is found within sheared portions of the mineralized coarse ash tuff, and tends to host the only significant gold mineralization found to date on the property. The rock is comprised of up to 50% fine sericite intermixed with recrystallized quartzofeldspathic material. Apple green mica of up to 0.5% is common as are up to 5% glassy stretched quartz eyes. Pyrite is ubiquitous in this unit as 3 to 8% streaky disseminations (Assessment report 41O05SE0008).

Mineralization Comments

Nov 29, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The North showing, located in claim 714686, was stripped and previously sampled by Donald O. Baker and Hollinger-Argus. Sample results vary, with the highest assays up to 600 ppb gold. Glen Auden Resource's best assay returned 189 ppb Au (sample #17135). The showing presently consists of three separate stripped areas exposing a broad (110 m) wide zone of strongly foliated to weakly sheared, pyritic (2 to 4%) coarse ash tuff, hosting several narrow (less than 1 m) strong shears semi-concordant with foliation. The strong shears consist of highly sericitic, pyritic (up to 8%), siliceous schist hosting traces of green mica. The showing area, as exposed, is approximately 170 m long along strike (Assessment report 41O05SE0008).
