Lithology Comments

Nov 28, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The west-northwest trending Grassy Pond Sill intrudes the top of the Toronto Lake Group at its contact with the Marshall Lake Group (MLG) through the centre of the Junior Lake Property. The Grassy Pond sill is a thick (100m to 500 metre wide), deformed, laterally continuous, gabbroic to locally anorthositic intrusive. The sill’s most identifying characteristic is the presence of large (up to 10 cm in diameter) subhedral to euhedral plagioclase phenocrysts that often collect to form leucogabbro and anorthositic intervals of highly variable thicknesses (Assessment report 20000013692).

Mineralization Comments

Nov 28, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Grassy Pond Sill mineralization ranges from 1 to 4% disseminated, patchy, and blebby chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite in gabbro. Most mineralization concentrates near the gabbro/mafic metavolcanic contact; however, some mineralization is adjacent in the strongly contact metamorphosed margin. Drilling on the Grassy Pond Sill returned elevated nickel and copper values in the gabbro, typical to the spotty ‘sulphide-burn’ mineralization seen at surface. The highest assay values encountered from the drilling are: 0.39% Ni, 0.43% Cu, 303 ppm Co, 770 ppb Au over 0.7m in drill hole 1108-30, and 0.23% Ni, 0.17% Cu, 122 ppm Co, 392 ppb Pd over 1.04 m in drill hole 1108-32 (Assessment report 20000013692). 2022 drill program results included highlights of DDH 0422-843 reporting 0.61g/t Pd and 0.19g/t Pt over 1.97 m from 162.53 m; and DDH 0422-845 reporting 0.34 g/t Pd and 0.11 g/t Pt over 21.74 m from 115.10 m, including 1.45 g/t Pd and 0.51 g/t Pt over 0.70 m from 116.30 m and 1.86 g/t Au and 0.55% Cu over 1.00 m from 23.00 m. The 2022 drill program extended the Grassy Pond prospect a further 250 m along strike to the east from DDH 1108-30 (Landore Resources news release Nov 17, 2022).
