Mineralization Comments

Jun 23, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - Holes at the Brandi zone all collared into a felsic to intermediate unit consisting of disseminated pyrite mineralization (~1%) and abundant euhedral quartz eyes. Patches of strong hematization and silicification occur throughout and vary from ~40 cm to 2 m wide. Sections lacking hematization contain 1-5 cm wide, vuggy, quartz-carb veins hosting blebby pyrite (~1%). In this unit sections with increased brittle deformation host relatively stronger disseminated pyrite mineralization (~3%). This unit was commonly found interbedded with a light tan coloured granitic unit (tonalite). Quartz vein material occurring throughout had a rough ‘stock-work like’ appearance in sections spatially associated with brittle deformation. These conditions hosted ~2% disseminated pyrite and trace chalcopyrite on average. Further down hole, deformation becomes more ductile, giving weak banding observed in milky white quartz vein hosting 0.5% pyrite and trace chalcopyrite. Mafic volcanics in this area contained sharp upper and lower contacts with a weak foliation throughout. Pervasive chlorite alteration and fracture-controlled epidote alteration dominated the mafic volcanics in this area. Sulphide mineralization, when present, was found associated with centimetre scale quartz-carbonate veining. In drill core, gold was found as blebby inclusions and along margins of pyrite grains commonly found in white quartz veining. DDH STR21-017 returned 0.86 g/t Au over 13.3 m from 12.6 m depth. DDH STR21-030 returned 0.39 g/t Au over 0.75 m from 13.25 m depth and 17.23 g/t Ag over 3.63 m from 15.52 m depth. Soil sampling done in 2010 returned gold assays up to 0.5 g/t Au. Various reconnaissance sampling programs completed in 1990, 2002, and 2009 outlined the NNE trending strongly sheared felsic unit with pervasive hematite staining. Grab samples taken by Fladgate personnel in proximity to the zone returned gold assays up to 2.4 g/t. (Pettigrew, 2022).
