Lithology Comments

Jun 26, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - Lithologically, the two holes drilled by Metallica Metals in 2022 contained mafic volcanics with local sericitized brecciation interbedded with coarse-grained quartz-feldspar-porphyry. Massive white quartz veining, 0.10 to 0.75 meters width, was intersected locally within the mafic metavolcanics. Disseminated fine-grained, cubic pyrite was observed throughout the quartz-feldspar porphyry at roughly 0.5%. Higher concentrations of sulphide mineralization were noted interstitially to massive quartz veining, commonly hosted within the mafic metavolcanics (Pettigrew, 2022)

Mineralization Comments

Jun 26, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Megan vein historically had grab samples assaying up to 20 g/t Au. Trenching in 2008 showed the vein to be a 20 cm to 1 m wide vein between mafic volcanic rocks. Sulphide mineralization was observed both in the mafic volcanics as trace to 5% blebby pyrite and within the quartz vein as generally coarse-grained pyrite up to 10% and finer grained disseminated pyrite in lesser amounts. Channel sampling done by Benton Resources gave gold concentrations of up to 61.0 g/t over 0.25 m and 3.6 g/t Au over 1.0 m. Drilling of the showing in 2009 produced only anomalous gold results within the weakly mineralized quartz vein. DDH STR21-028 returned 0.425 g/t Au and 4.7 g/t Ag over 0.5 m at 22.5 m depth (Pettigrew, 2022)
