Access Description: Located 2 km north of Cheaside in the Walpole Township, the Municipality of City of Nanticoke.



Exploration History

The quarry was operated in the early 1900's by the township to provide crushed stone for local road construction.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (M Barua) - The geology at this quarry consists of 3.1m thick limestone of Middle Devonian Dundee Formation, very fine to fine crystalline, thin to medium-bedded with rare bituminous partings, fossiliferous with brachiopods, bryozoans and crinoids.
