Access Description: The quarry is located 2 km northeast of City of Port Colborne on Chippewa Road in Humberstone Twp.



Exploration History

The geographic township of Humberstone is now a part of Regional Municipality of Niagara; two quarries are loacted here , western one is depleted and the other one is extending eastward with a licensed area of 142.1 Ha.The quarry produces about 750,00-800,000 tonnes/year.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (M Barua) - Exposed face consists of 12.23 m of Upper Silurian Bertie Formation and 3.04 m of the Lower Devonian Bois Blanc Formation. The Bertie Fmn has three Members: Akron(Dolostone), Williamsville(Calcareous dolostone) and Scajacuanda(Calcareous dolostone) ant the Bois Blanc Fmn is mainly cherty limestone with some shaly zones.
