Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (Q Unknown) - The main gypsum bed and the first roof gypsum are the mine units; they represent the Salina B (anhydrite) unit. The main gypsum bed varies in thickness from 2.6 to 4.8 m. The first roof gypsum varies between 0.6 and 2.3 m in thickness. The main gypsum bed has the lithology of gypsum to dolomitic gypsum with alternating nodular and laminated textures. In the first roof gypsum, gypsite, gypsum and gyperiferous shale are present.
