Exploration History

Pre-1906 : H. Hall produced brick (face and hard) for many years. 600,000 brick / season. c1930 : McIvor Brothers produced a red soft-mud brick but the clay contained 'quite a few pebbles' (which was not a problem unless they were limey, as some were) -the future of the plant was in doubt at this time. 500,000 brick / season.
