Point Location Description: Point 1 km NW of Escott on lot 15, con 2.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
1855-65 : pits worked for copper ore are described on lots 16 and 17 in a ' vein or interstratified bed ' in micaceous schist. It is 4-5 ft thick with about 15 inches of solid chalcopyrite, some pyrite and quartz, orthoclase, tourmaline and mica. The vein was seen in the roof of a drift. To the SW (100 ft) along strike, another opening contained a vein 3 ft wide with cp, py, tourmaline, quartz and feldspar - presumably on lot 15, where a shaft was sunk about 50 ft and at 20 ft a level was run NE 50 ft to a large open pit.
